Industrial Valves
Mechanical devices that open, close, or partially obstruct passageways to regulate the flow of liquid or gas within a system are known as industrial valves. They frequently have a variety of characteristics that help define their ideal application. Valves come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and configurations to match different applications (on/off, control), fluids (liquid, gas, etc.) materials (combustible, toxic, corrosive, etc.), and pressures and temperatures.
In fluid or gaseous handling applications, valves are used to start or stop the flow, regulate or throttle flow, prevent backflow, relieve pressure, and regulate pressure. Valve types that are commonly used include: ball, butterfly, check, diaphragm, gate, globe, knife gate, parallel slide, pinch, piston, plug, sluice, and so on.
Choosing the right valve for your specific application can be challenging because there are so many options available.
Valves serve several purposes, including:
- Depending on the state of the valve, start or stop the flow.
- Controlling flow and pressure in a piping system
- Controlling the flow direction within a piping system
- Controlling flow rates in a piping system
Improving safety in a piping system by relieving pressure or vacuum.
