American Cast Iron Pipe Company

AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company, founded in Birmingham, Ala., in 1905, is a manufacturer of ductile iron pipe, spiral-welded steel pipe, fire hydrants and valves for the waterworks industry, and high-frequency-welded steel pipe for the energy industry. AMERICAN’s diversified product line also includes fire pumps, structural casing and piling, castings for large machinery and specialty rubber products.

AMERICAN employs approximately 2,500 people – about 1,500 at its headquarters plant and offices in Birmingham, and about 1,000 at its subsidiary plants: AMERICAN Castings, LLC, in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma; AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe Company, LLC, in Columbia, S.C., Flint, Michigan and Paris, Texas; AMERICAN Valve & Hydrant Manufacturing Company in Beaumont, Texas; Intercast SA inItauna, Brazil; Specification Rubber Products Inc., Alabaster, Alabama; and Waterous Company in South Saint Paul, Minnesota.
