The Box Order System (BOS) is a WITRON development that not only meets the high expectations in terms of product handling, but also sets new standards in terms of efficiency, throughput and ergonomics in the fresh produce environment. Due to its high flexibility, the solution can also be used in beverage crate logistics. Because many processes in the branch-specific picking of crate towers and individual crates correspond to those of whole container handling in the fresh food area. And what's more, there are only very few fully automatic solutions with a high level of efficiency on the market for this industry.

The solution has a modular structure. Each module consists of a replenishment stacker crane and four picking stacker cranes - the so-called Box Picking Machines (BPM). After the goods have been received, the sorted box stacks are first separated from the WE pallet. The replenishment SRMs then store the tote stacks directly in the pick front. The special feature: The branch-specific picking of the totes is carried out highly dynamically directly by the newly developed BPM storage and retrieval device. The BPM was designed in such a way that its lightweight telescopic fork does not lift the containers or container stacks, but clamps them. The advantage here is that not only individual crates, but also a number of load carriers tailored to the customer order - ie complete container stacks, Partial stacks or individual crates – can be removed from the rack in a completely flexible manner and, while driving to the next picking position, can be assembled directly by the storage and retrieval machine to form units suitable for the store without errors. Finally, the shipping units formed in this way are automatically palletized, wrapped in film and made available as double-deck pallets just-in-time for delivery in the shipping area.
