Speed measurement without sensor based on the remanent voltage
The speed relay WA-DR8 / G measures the speed of generators and motors. The principle is based on a frequency measurement of the voltage of the generator. The remanent voltage of an asynchronous generator is sufficient, since amplitudes as low as 0.7 V are already measured. Due to the measuring principle, no sensor is required. The transmitter of the WA-DR8 / G outputs the speed at the output as standard signal 2-10 V DC.
Monitoring for under- and overspeed
In addition, the WA-DR8 / G monitors the measured variable for underspeed and overspeed. A relay with change-over contact is available for signaling, and the status is indicated by LEDs on the device. The tripping limits are set via coding switches.
