Longitudinal regulator for wind turbines

Longitudinal regulator for wind turbines

New field of application for series regulators in wind turbines

Larger wind farms often feed their generated energy directly into the high-voltage grid.

Since the high-voltage networks were originally not calculated or designed for these applications, the decentralized feed, there are increasingly significant voltage problems in the high-voltage level.

The problems are due to overloaded networks in strong voltage fluctuations of up to 30% overvoltage and -25% undervoltage directly in the high voltage level, which must be controlled by the new generation plants.

In this case, the control and regulation technology in the wind turbine on the 690 V low voltage level must be effectively protected by an upstream series regulator (self-consumption regulator).

In the VDE-AR-N 4120: 2015-01 "Technical conditions for the connection and operation of customer installations to the high-voltage network" (TAB high voltage), the standards to be observed are therefore precisely defined.

Self-consumption regulator developed for wind turbines - series regulatorWALCHER 's own demand regulator - longitudinal regulator developed by WALCHER specifically for wind turbines serves to comply with this standard. Due to the rapid readjustment of the voltage fluctuations, the standard required for low-voltage systems according to DIN EN 50160: 2011-02 can be maintained with permissible voltage fluctuations of +/- 10%.
