Compact Rod Type Actuators and Radial Cylinders

Compact Rod Type Actuators and Radial Cylinders

Direct Driven or with Deflection

The linear rod type actuators from the RoboCylinder series are available with 24V stepper motor, 24V servo motor or 230V servo motor. They are characterized by their compact design, mechanical stability and high positioning accuracy of up to ± 5 μm.

The linear actuators are available in two design variants: As a directly driven rod type with motor in extension of the cylinder longitudinal axis and as a shorter variant with deflection, in which the motor and axis are parallel to each other. Both variants are also suitable as heavy-duty electric actuators for high payloads.

In addition to the standard version, many linear actuators are also available as cleanroom versions and for special environmental conditions also as dustproof, splashproof or waterproof models with IP54 to IP67 protection.

Radial Cylinders for radial and axial payloads

RCP6 radial cylinders are compact rod type actuators without external guides that can support radial and axial payloads and load moments. The built-in ball circulating linear guides also suppress vibrations during stopping.

Strokes from 50 mm up to 700 mm are available. A collision detection function has also been incorporated into the new RCP6 series.

Usage examples

• Inserting, press-fitting, or riveting a work• Using as a lifter or a workpiece unloader• Using as a movable vertical axis of the cartesian system• Transferring or positioning an object

Wide radial cylinder for high load torques

Due to a wide body and high-ridigity rod, the RCP6 WRA radial cylinder can deal with up to four times the allowable torque on rod tip compared to a standard radial cylinder. Due to a high dynamic allowable moment, it can be utilized for uses such as tightening screws and stirring that have large load torque.

The wide racial cylinder is very compact since an external guide is unnecessary.

Usage examples

  • Inserting, press-fitting, or riveting a work
  • Tightening a screw or stirring
  • Using as a lifter or a workpiece unloader
  • Using as a movable vertical axis of the cartesian system

High-resolution absolute encoders with or without battery

The advantages of high-resolution absolute encoders lie in the reduced downtimes and thus lower production costs, because no home-return operation is required at start up or after emergency stop or faulty operation. The price corresponds to conventional incremental encoders.

If it is a battery-free absolute encoder, there is also no need for maintenance and replacement of the battery, which is used for position storage.

Advantages of battery-free absolute encoders

  • home-return is not necessary.
  • No external home sensor required.
  • No workpieces need to be removed after an emergency shutdown.
  • No battery change and therefore no battery disposal.
