In multi-seam opencast mines in particular, a flexible connection of the conveying routes in the form of a mass distributor is a prerequisite for optimal use of the deposit and economic opencast mining.
The material obtained is fed to a mass distributor in a belt collection point by several belt conveyors. By means of shifting heads, each conveyor system to be conveyed can be given the option of being transferred to the long-distance mineral-transporting conveyor or to connecting conveyors to stackers for overburden tipping.
In this way, a quality-controlled dumping of overburden and the extraction of minerals (e.g. coal) from different seams on different working levels in alternating overburden and mineral operation can be made possible.
