Liquid Line Ultrasonic
Conventional ultrasonic flow meters use the time difference between a measurement with and against the direction of flow to calculate flow. In order to measure the volume flow precisely, various sound packets or ultrasonic waves are sent, which lead to different time delays due to the flow profile of the liquid. Almost all measuring devices for large-diameter pipes are based on this. However, applying this to tubes with diameters of a few millimeters reduces the time difference to a few picoseconds. The time difference is simply too small to make reliable statements about the flow. The ES-FLOW Ultrasonic was developed to measure tiny volume flows with high precision using ultrasound. The solution is based on using guided waves at relatively low frequencies. Three supersonic transducers are used to send and receive an ultrasonic signal. All combinations are registered and processed to measure wave velocity and volumetric flow of the liquid. The unique design in combination with a proven sensor technology optimized to measure low volume flows, this innovative technology represents new possibilities for many industries.
