Special Design -Short Pattern Valves

In 2009 we were asked to produce a special valve as a replacement with a mandatory face to face dimension given by the existing pipeline and flanges.

We realized an out of standard carbon steel valve with Inconel 625 overlay including flanges.

It was a 34”900# Desflex ends valve with hydraulic actuator, SPE-DPE seat configuration, metal to metal within a face to face dimension of 1.990 mm (only 88 mm longer than a standard 30”900#).

We supplied a complete Finite Elements Analysis in order to verify the short pattern design in presence of external forces.

A five year warranty was required. Nowadays, despite four operations per week, the valve, placed immediately after the pig launcher, is still perfectly functional without having received any maintenance!
