Active carbon filter

Carbon filtration has great application possibilities in industry, at breweries, at waterworks and in waste water treatment. Water treatment with an active carbon filter can remove:

  • organic solvents

  • pesticides

  • PFAS

  • hydrocarbons

  • phenols

  • free chlorine

  • chloramide

  • chlorine dioxide

  • taste and smell

General use of activated carbon filter

REMOVAL OF CHLORINE

Regardless of whether free chlorine, chloramide or chlorine dioxide is added to the water, it can be removed in an activated carbon filter before the water is used for process or drinking water purposes. In advanced water treatment with membrane filtration, for example in a reverse osmosis system, it is important that chlorine is removed from the water, as chlorine can cause damage to the membranes.

REMOVAL OF PESTICIDES

Almost all types of organic matter, including the vast majority of pesticides and solvents, can be removed by adsorption with activated carbon. The different substances have different adsorption capacity, and a good result therefore depends on correct dimensioning and choice of coal for the specific task.

REMOVAL OF TASTE AND SMELL

Active carbon filtration effectively removes bad taste and odor from drinking water. Color in drinking water caused by ocher can also be removed via adsorption with activated carbon.

Product overview

Our product range includes a wide selection of standard plants, all designed and manufactured in our own factories. The starting point is our modular standard system, which ensures high flexibility, high operational reliability and short delivery times. Each solution can be customized and built according to the specific application by customizing the choice of material, instrumentation and control - based on your and our combined know-how.

Plant description

We offer a wide product range of carbon filters in different sizes and materials. All carbon filters can be equipped with automatic back-flushing. Carbon filters are also manufactured in stainless steel with CIP (Cleaning In Place) for disinfection.

Both return flush and quality flush can be programmed individually using predetermined time controls. The filter containers are made of steel and coated with PPA, which makes them resistant to corrosion.
