Servo Spot Welding Gun

Servo Spot Welding Gun

Servo Spot Welding Gun

An essential prerequisite for a good spot weld in both aluminum and steel spot welds is the reproducibility of the electrode force. This must always be guaranteed in all positions of the tongs, even under the influence of interference. Matuschek spot welding guns are equipped with a servo-electric actuator for building up the gun force (with integrated encoder and force sensor) and a servo-electric actuator for optimal compensation of the gun weight in the direction of the electrodes (gun compensation).

The SPATZ+ technology control evaluates the motor current, encoder and force signals of the tongs in real time and reliably compensates for interference through fast evaluation and feedback to the main motor within a few milliseconds.

An asymmetrical distribution of the welding force from the electrodes to the component caused by

  • a changed pincer position and/or
  • due to incorrect positioning of the components to be welded and/or
  • due to asymmetrical cap milling

is compensated down to a few Newtons by the low-friction servo-electric clamp compensation in combination with adaptive control. The welding tongs equipped with these technologies enable reproducible and process-reliable spot welding of even the most demanding combinations of aluminum and sheet steel.

Matuschek servo welding guns are available in C and X designs in scalable sizes.
