self-aligning ball bearing

self-aligning ball bearing

self-aligning ball bearing

Self-aligning ball bearings are double-row rolling bearings and consist of an inner ring with two ball raceways and an outer ring with a raceway in the shape of a hollow sphere. This enables angular mobility that can be used to compensate for misalignments, shaft deflections or misalignments.

Technical information

Self-aligning ball bearings can be swiveled out of the middle position and can thus compensate for misalignments, shaft deflections and housing deformations.

  • with rotating inner ring: up to 4°, sealed bearings up to 1.5°
  • with rotating outer ring or wobbling inner ring: lower

External environmental influences can have an extremely negative effect on the running properties and thus the service life if the seal is inadequate. Bearings must therefore be protected by seals.

Bearings with seals on both sides are always greased for life.

At the same time, seals also prevent the lubricant from escaping.

2RS / RS

Grinding seal with good sealing effect against coarse and fine contamination. Very good sealing effect, also against grease leakage and therefore long service life. The standard seal is made of NBR nitrile rubber and has a temperature resistance of -40 °C to +100 °C.

The clearance in the bearing is identified by the identifier C (C0, C2, C3 ...). Conical bearings are mostly used in the C3 design, so that the bearing clearance is not impermissibly reduced when the adapter sleeve is installed.

  • C0/CN: standard clearance class. Indicator is usually omitted.
  • C2: Reduced internal clearance
  • C3: Higher internal clearance than C0/CN
  • C4: Higher internal clearance than C3
  • C5: Higher internal clearance than C4 - especially when used with high-temperature bearings.
  • Special tolerances according to customer specification: CX.Y (upper dimension X in µm, lower dimension Y in µm).

Connection dimensions and concentricity have a decisive influence on the service life and function of the rolling bearing. The selection of the shaft, housing and bearing fit must therefore always be checked in advance.

The following tolerance classes are available:

  • Standard tolerances available from stock: P0/PN
  • Special tolerances: P6, P5

Cage types can vary depending on size and type of application. We carry various cage designs made of sheet steel, plastic and brass.

rings

Outer and inner rings are made of 100Cr6 (German standard), SUJ2 (Japanese standard) or GCr15 (Chinese standard) as standard.

Stainless steel products according to AISI standard: AISI420, AISI440, AISI630 ...

Cage

Sheet steel cages are made from DC01A/ST12 as standard (no suffix).

Plastic cages ( suffixes TN, TV, TVP ...) can have different specifications, but are mostly made of polyamide. High-temperature versions made of PEEK.

Brass cages (suffix M) have very good emergency running properties and can be used at temperatures of up to 150°C.

seals

Seals are made of NBR (acrylonitrile butadiene rubber) as standard. This results in an operating temperature of -30 °C to +100 °C, even if the grease allows a higher temperature.
