Detailed Features
When you work with Delta Cooling Towers, you will be pleased to know that all Delta Cooling Towers, including our Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Towers, are factory assembled to the fullest extent possible for ease of installation and shipment. The following features are standard on our Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Towers:
Shell
Our Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Towers have a seamlessly designed polyethylene cylindrical (HDPE) molded shell with an HDPE plastic blower duct connected onto its shell wall. Featuring a removable HDPE cover located above its integral cold sump water level, its shell has an inspection port with accessibility to an adjustable float and an automatic make-up valve.
Sump
The Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Tower’s sump is essential. Its cooling tower shell creates a seamless, one piece structure so there are no seams or joints in the cooling tower sump.
Water Distribution System
Our Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Towers have a non-corrosive, enclosed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) internal riser, as well as a spray tree and nozzle distribution system. In addition, its PVC threaded nozzles can be substituted and switched out. Even better, most of our cooling towers feature a large diameter orifice that improves flow conditions without raising inlet pressure. In fact, nearly all of our nozzles can accept an increased flow rate at higher inlet pressure levels.
Wet Decking and Drift Eliminator
The Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Tower’s polyvinyl chloride (PVC) drift eliminator and wet decking is non-corrosive and spirally bonded and wound for optimum film cooling effectiveness. Also, our polyvinyl chloride (PVC), non-corrosive hand straps are secured to the drift eliminator and wet decking sections for simple removal.
Blower
Our Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Towers feature a dynamically and statically balanced forward curved centrifugal blower. Made of ultra-strong carbon steel materials, providing a baked and dipped alkyd finish to prevent corrosion.
Motor
Complete with an enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) VFD rated motor that has a 1.15 service factor, the Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Tower is designed for 208 or 230/460V 3 phase 60 cycle operation. This makes it more than suitable for outdoor services. Plus, its motor offers something that other manufacturers do not: a 5-year motor manufacturer’s warranty.
Fitting Connections
Our Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Towers have non-corrosive bulkhead fittings made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) that features neoprene gaskets for outlet, overflow, inlet, drain, and make-up (FRT) connections. Besides this, all of our outlet fittings for pump suction applications are sold with an attached vortex breaker.
Hardware
Last but not least, the Pioneer® Series Forced Draft Cooling Tower’s fasteners are all made from 304 stainless steel.
