The electrical installation between the controller and sensors/actuators typically takes place in mobile machines using terminal boxes and cable harnesses. The controllers used have few, multi-pole connectors. With regard to expandability and option management, classic installation systems have clear limits.

The center of the DATA PANEL installation solution are fully encapsulated CAN I/O modules with protection class IP67 / IP69K with the proven 4-pin DT connection technology. They create space on the controller, replace terminal boxes and standardized cable harnesses. The IO modules of the xtremeDB product family are available with the fieldbus protocols SAE J1939, CANopen or CAN Layer 2-B.

The robust CAN I/O modules offer eight DT slots for input or output signals and can be parameterized individually. Sensor signals can be read in via digital inputs, analog inputs, or via frequency inputs / counter inputs. Digital outputs, pulse width modulated PWM outputs or PWMi outputs with current control or ratiometric Danfoss PVG outputs are available for valves and other actuators.

With xtremeDB, series machines benefit from a modular, pluggable expansion level on the now standardized cable harness. Option management, customer requests and future functional expansions can all be mapped much more easily. Smaller mobile machines that are only equipped with a display control can be easily expanded with full-fledged inputs and outputs with xtremeDB CAN I/O modules.
