Springs

Springs

Springs at CSS are produced according to exacting customer specifications from a wide range of raw materials, with size ranges from .004" to .350" in diameter.

Compression Springs

Helical compression springs are used to resist applied compression forces or to store energy in the push mode. Straight cylindrical shapes can be created from round wire and helical end types can be plain, ground or squared.

Extension Springs

Helical extension springs store energy and exert a pulling force. They are developed using round wire that is close-wound with some initial tension. These springs do not typically have their sets removed.

Torsion Springs

Torsion springs are coils that are twisted (rather than pulled) to store energy. Great care must be exercised when adjusting large coiled torsion springs since they store a large amount of mechanical energy.

Magazine Springs

CSS manufactures an extensive variety of magazine springs for firearm and defense applications. Spring material sizes range from .033" to .062" and typical spring materials for these applications include Music Wire, Rocket Wire, 17-7 PH, and Chrome Silicon.
