Intermittors

Intermittors

The intermittent uses the same operating principle as the rotary table, but differs in having an output shaft instead of a disc and a prismatic shape which makes it more easily applicable, in various orientations, to the structure of the incorporating machine. Of the same body as the Intermittent, the Oscillator is equipped with a particular cam device, specific for transforming the uniform motion at the input into an oscillating rotation at the output. The amplitude of the oscillation, the forward / return phases possibly interspersed with pauses in the movement of the output shaft, are also in this case determined by the profile of the cam, the number and position of the rollers.

Due to their construction characteristics they are particularly suitable for very fast movements of equipment with low mass and inertia. The devices with parallel axes (input shaft parallel to output shaft) perform oscillating or intermittent rotation by means of a double flat cam with a conjugate profile in contact with idle rollers. As an alternative to orthogonal systems, they are low cost devices, particularly suitable where very high precision is not required.
