Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to set a recognised standard in PLC training for all industries to ensure companies know their engineers are working safely and efficiently with their automated control systems in day-to-day operations.
We believe that PLC training should be engaging and relevant to an engineer’s work environment. We also believe this training should be accessible to any engineer who is expected to work on automated control systems.
Training, Design, Refurbishment & Troubleshooting
Scantime was started in 2004, after developing and launching the first form of PLC and SCADA online courses, providing a unique look at these systems and the programming involved. Popularity in the online series grew and over the years, we have furthered our online platform, as well as developed industry leading, hands-on courses due to the expertise and experience gained from working in the automation industry for over 40 years, programming Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Omron PLC’s.
We are now providing training to thousands of individuals and companies worldwide, delivering Automation Programming courses to help ensure correct level of training is given to increase the safety of engineers on the shop-floor and the integrity of processes.
Our unique selling point is that you aren’t taught by someone who has little experience of working on the shop floor, you’re taught by professional engineers from our Automation Dept. who design and install real programs into systems for our clients in many industries, worldwide. Our engineers/trainers teach you real safety programming to industrial standards as well how to work on a Live PLC on the shop floor which is controlling equipment which can be extremely dangerous.
Being a PLC trained engineer is a skilled and responsible position.
Programming errors caused by an engineer with low skill levels when working on a PLC and SCADA system may result in a loss of production, damage to the process, reduction in efficiency as well as affecting the safety integrity of the operation. Any of the above can result in a huge financial loss to a company. Our PLC programming and SCADA programming courses not only teach you the basics of the PLC and SCADA equipment which every programmer is required to learn but more importantly, how to write control routines and programs to a standard that is required in industry.
Within our Automation Dept. we assist companies through our Automation Design, Refurbishment and Troubleshooting services. We have recently commissioned a major process refurbishment which saw an upgrade to a 3,000+ SqFt. production line containing over 1200 IO Devices, PLCs, HMIs, 20 Drives and 5 Control Panels. The refurbishment was decided by the client when areas of the process had starting to fail late 2018, original suppliers and spare parts were becoming difficult to locate, shutting the process down for extended periods of time. Scantime Automation were brought in initially to help troubleshoot when a serious breakdown stopped production for several days.
