SENSORS FROM SICATRON

Sensors are technical components that have physical or chemical properties, e.g. E.g.: Temperature, brightness, humidity, pressure and the material composition of its surroundings can be recorded qualitatively or quantitatively. These variables are recorded using physical or chemical effects and converted into electrical signals.

What are sensors?

Sensors are technical components that have physical or chemical properties, e.g. E.g.: Temperature, brightness, humidity, pressure and the material composition of its surroundings can be recorded qualitatively or quantitatively. These variables are recorded using physical or chemical effects and converted into electrical signals. DIN 1319-1 also uses the term measurement variable pickup for measurement technology. Sensors can be classified according to size and production technology as well as according to application and purpose. A distinction is made between sensors according to their mode of operation when converting the variables into passive and active sensors.

In technology, sensors play an important role as signal transmitters in automated processes. The values or states recorded by them are processed in the associated controller, which is usually amplified electrically and electronically, and which triggers the corresponding further steps. In recent years, this subsequent signal processing has also increasingly been carried out in the sensor. Such sensors contain a microprocessor or a microsystem and have intelligence, which is why they are also referred to as smart sensors.
