CSN Preheaters - Process Heaters

CSN® process heaters, preheaters and oil preheaters consist of one or more instantaneous water heaters , which are equipped with a valve and a pump, as well as a self-sufficient controller.

TaskCombustion engines, for which immediate operational readiness is important, must be preheated before being switched on. The well-known cold start difficulties are eliminated and the engine can be operated immediately with high performance. Furthermore, signs of wear on the machine caused by cold starts are significantly reduced. Typical areas of application for corresponding preheating systems are e.g. B. Emergency generators (diesel engine + generator) or locomotives and ships (diesel engine for propulsion). Oil preheaters are used for large gears and drives to keep the lubricants (the oil) at the correct temperature. The process heaters, in turn, secure the processes in the manufacture of any goods.

Device functionWhen the combustion engine is cold and stopped, the coolant is pumped through the cooling circuit of the combustion engine and through the flow heater. The coolant is circulated by the pump of the electrical preheating unit. The engine is heated evenly by preheating the coolant circuit. After the cooling system has heated up, the temperature is kept constant at the temperature set on the temperature controller.When the engine is running, the heater is switched off. The built-in non-return valve prevents the cooling water from being pumped over the pre-heating unit when the engine is running.
