RAM’s remote thermocouples are similar to traditional thermocouples, but are available with or without a temperature transmitter and are mounted remotely from the process they are monitoring. Perfect for applications that prohibit direct mounting, remote models allow temperature sensing despite excessive radiated or conducted heat, or high vibrations. Remote thermocouple models can accurately sense temperature to a precision of ±1.1°C.
An extensive range of elements, connection heads, insertion lengths and process connections can be individually selected for the appropriate application. Remote thermocouples can be programmed in the field to work as a type J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N or C calibration connector. They are accessed digitally and data can easily be exported. RAM’s remote thermocouples are convenient and efficient, consuming low amounts of power while still able to measure extreme high and low temperatures and relay data over several miles at predetermined intervals. Because of this, the remote model is ideal for measuring temperatures in industrial boilers, liquids, and food storage units.

Our remote sensors send all pertinent data to relay points so that operators can easily identify and access relevant and key measurements, such as temperature, battery level, location, and unique serial number. In general, batteries will not need to be changed frequently, and can operate reliably over the course of up to 500,000 transmissions. Depending on the amount of daily transmissions, you could be looking at years of use before it is necessary to change batteries. Long-lasting battery life gives RAM’s products an edge and makes the temperature sensing process easier.
Another key feature of RAM remote thermocouples is the micro cable that allows for accurate remote temperature monitoring without compromising door seals or the cable itself. A high-impact, chemical-resistant ABS case further protects the sensor. These features allow for accurate temperature monitoring within freezers, water baths, heating blocks, incubators, refrigerators, and other high- or low-temperature areas.
