Variable Inductance AC Resonant Test Systems are used where the load is largely capacitive with very low real power losses such as power cables, gas insulated switchgear, generator windings, and dry tests of insulator strings. High Power High Voltage systems are typically used in fixed factory installations while smaller systems can also be mobile for onsite testing. Variable Inductance systems are typically designed to work with the local power system mains frequency.
