MACHINE TAPES & BELTS
MACHINE TAPES & BELTS
Machine tapes and belts facilitate product manipulation in multiple dimensions. They are a central component of many conveying processes, particularly graphic arts, mailing and bindery applications. MIR provides lightweight, high-grip belts that accurately and precisely manipulate products — and allow facilities to meet ambitious production demands.
What types of machine belts does MIR provide?
For processing application requiring machine tapes and belts, MIR provides both traditional and modern fabrications. Traditional rubber-covered belts are made of nitrile rubber with an adhesive splice, while newer styles consist of predominantly polyurethane with a thermal melt splice. All of our machine tapes are constructed with a thin fabrication to facilitate high run speeds and small pulley diameter navigation. Matched sets of belting are also available for applications when several belts run side by side on a common shaft. Based on the needs of your application line and the current belting equipment, MIR’s belting experts can help you select a best-fit machine belt.
Our machine tapes and belts provide productive product manipulation on application lines such as, but not limited to:
- Vertical form / fill / seal machines
- Labeling machines
- Printing and binding
- Box making
- Document handling
- Bottle capping machines
- Mail sorting equipment
- Oil skimming
- Dough rolling and forming
- Profile extrusion
- Fiber optic drawing
- Wire and cable pulling
Advantages of machine tapes & belts
Advanced grip capability
This facilitates precise and accurate manipulation of the product through movements such as feeding, flipping and holding — without any slippage, which risks product integrity.
High speed, high productivity
The incredibly thin — yet durable — construction of our machine tapes and belts allows equipment to run fast without wearing down, allowing facilities to meet impressive throughput goals.
Exceptional tracking with matched set fabrication
Side-by-side machine tape applications with all belts running on a common shaft need exactly the same belt length across the set, otherwise tracking is at risk. That’s where matched set fabrication comes in — we take an endless sleeve and slit it with very tight tolerances and guarantee measurement accuracy.
Greater transfer navigation
MIR’s machine tapes can navigate small pulley diameters — ranging from 1 inch to ⅜ inch — and thus facilitate successful transfers between lines.
Anti-static capabilities
For facilities requiring anti-static belting, MIR’s machine tapes can be fabricated to meet those needs and prevent static discharge from irreparably damaging the product
