High Pressure Vessels with Actuated Chock Closures

High Pressure Vessels with Actuated Chock Closures

Our KW Designed Solutions designed and developed actuated chock closure high pressure testing vessels are equipped with an automated quick-acting closure. Our innovatively engineered vessel closure, uses electrically actuated sliding chocks, that lock the closure plug in place. Its robust design provides the operator with a quick and simple opening and closing of the vessel, with the push of a button.

The compact nature of the actuated chock closure allows the body of the vessels to be shorter in height, making them ideal for use in facilities where height is restricted. Manual handling of the relatively heavy chocks is not required, as they simply retract when actuated, into the wall of the vessel body.

The closure plug is the only item that requires handling, during the opening and closing of the pressure vessel. It is relatively low weight and numerous attachment points ensure it can be raised/ lowered using a standard hoist, with a low to moderate lifting capacity. The closure comes with a plug guidance system (PGS) for alignment with the vessel and attachment points are also included on the underside of the closure for hanging off the device under test (DUT).

Used in vertical orientation, these pressure vessels have a relatively small footprint, taking up minimal shop floor space. The pressure vessel can be provided with its own closure handling system, can be installed below ground level or supplied with its own structural safety enclosure.
