5125 Sanitary Sensors
Description:
A sanitary style, optoelectronic liquid level sensor with a 1½" Tri-Clover® process connection and a Basic, low-level, current output. Input voltage is 5-28 VDC.
Because of their inherent simplicity, they are an ideal choice for Class I intrinsically safe applications.
The two-piece assembly comprises a flanged sanitary probe and a separable optoelectronics module. The module houses an infrared L.E.D. and a matching phototransistor. The sensor is intended for use with any one of several, remotely installed, Kinematics' Smart-Bloc® or Smart-Board® controllers. The sensor assembly provides the optoelectronics. The controller provides switching hysterisis, ambient light immunity, programmability, fault detection, and dry contact switching.
The flanged sanitary probe is molded from Udel® Polysulfone, an F.D.A. approved, high-performance thermoplastic. Other materials, such as Isoplast®, P.F.A. Teflon®, Polymethylpentene (T.P.X.), or Kel-F® can be provided on special order. Available probe lengths range from 0.38" to 3.50".
The back end of the electronics module is fitted with a standard 12 mm., 4-pin, threaded electrical connector. Kinematics offers a wide variety of mating cable sets. (See Section, Mating Cables.)
