How Metal Welding and Fabrication complements Laser and Turning
Since 2015 we have invested over £450k in new fabrication equipment, the latest addition being CNC Turning. We see fabrication as the perfect complement to our range of laser and turning services, it brings together Tube laser, Flatbed laser and machined components prior to applying our range of finishing techniques.
The ability of our unique in house design engineering team, allows us to create and to provide Jigs and Fixtures for our clients. Working in partnership we offer methods of alternative manufacture to aid efficient manufacturing, often delivering reduced part count and faster processing. Laser cutting parts for fabrication gives confidence to us and our customers that every part will fit together accurately every time. In our view the combination of Tube laser and Flatbed laser and CNC turning prior to welding is the new benchmark for world class manufacturing. We can process turned components up to a maximum bar length of 700mm, and 250mm diameter.
Quality, Speed and Accuracy
We are passionate about the combination of laser and fabrication. Over 20% of our workforce are skilled welders, all have BS EN ISO 9606 certification which ensures that all fabrication is done consistently and to the highest standard.
With in-house craneage facilities, we offer customers fabrication solution for projects such as Chassis assemblies, Conveyors, Agricultural and forestry equipment, Inspection machines and walkways.
Our rigorous quality control procedures ensure that consistent strength and finish are maintained on all welds. This includes a Faro measurement arm which can give quality reports as required. Our bespoke MRP has a vital part to play in delivering our quality standard. Every detail of a customer order including quality specific requirements are visible at each stage of the production process, unique barcodes ensure that quality alerts are always top priority. Investment in market leading technology is key to our success. Our quality lab is no exception and is fully equipped with the latest measuring and verification technology.
Capability
Hutchinson Engineering provides custom precision Subcontract steel fabrication and quality welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. Our multi-sector welding experience means we have developed the flexibility and capability to weld a wide range of weights from a few kilos up to 5T. We use the latest synergic pulse MIG and TIG systems to fabricate mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Our welding and clamping tables mean perfect flatness is achieved, quickly and accurately, removing the requirement for costly jigs and fixtures, coupled with fully coded welders means you can rest assured at the quality of weld provided. Capability is key to reducing our lead times and improving our offering. Our latest addition of CNC turning highlights our strategy of One Supplier, One Solution.
