Roller Chain Sprockets Precision
Roller chain sprockets or bush roller chain sprockets are the type of chain most commonly used for transmission of mechanical power on bicycles, motorcycles, and in industrial and agricultural machinery. It is simple, reliable, and efficient, but requires more attention to maintain than may be desired by potential owners. There has, therefore, been of late a tendency towards the use of other modes of power transmission such as the cog, or timing belt.Though Hans Renold is credited with inventing roller chain in 1880, sketches by Leonardo da Vinci in the 16th century show a chain with a roller bearing.
We can manufacture every roller chain sprocket that could be required from 3mm diameter, up to 3 metre diameter.
Sprockets from 4mm pitch to 3″ pitch and all metric equivalents are available to be manufactured.

We can manufacture them with precision CNC machined teeth. If your application requires the use of precision roller chain then this is what you will require. Our experts will design and draw in CAD for you and then export the profile into our CAM CNC machines to cut the teeth.
We can also manufacture them with flame cut CNC machined teeth. If your application requires the use of semi precision roller chain then this is what you will require. Our experts will design and draw in CAD for you and then export the profile into our CAM CNC flame cutting machines to cut the teeth. This method is cheaper than precision cut teeth and is used a lot in environments where precision and noise is not an issue.
Split Sprockets
If quick detachability is necessary without dismantling shafts or bearings, then sprockets may be of the split type.These are made in two half sections and the mating faces are machined to allow accurate assembly with the shaft in place.This type of sprocket is particularly useful on multi-strand conveyors where long through-shafts are used, as considerable expense can be saved in sprocket replacement time.
We can design and manufacture a split sprocket for your application. Our split sprockets are so accurate that you will have to take the screws out to determine that they are actually split!
Segmental Sprockets
Sprockets with removable tooth segments are particularly useful where sprocket tooth wear is much more rapid than chain wear.
With this type of sprocket, segments of teeth can be replaced one at a time without having to disconnect or remove the chain, thus considerable expense and downtime can be saved.
