Energy Savings. Turning off the compressor saves a huge amount of energy. Typically, running a “free-cooler” can reduce your energy consumption by more than 75%. This is substantial, especially in northern climates where you can turn off your chiller for several months during the year.
Low Maintenance. This fully integrated system provides an alternative to high maintenance evaporative cooling towers that require cleaning and draining in environments where freezing is an issue. This system is completely automatic with no input or maintenance necessary between seasons and even more important, no maintenance will be necessary during the winter
Long Life. Guarantees a long operating life because most of the year the load is taken off the chiller and specifically the compressor. This significantly reduces the compressors yearly running hours and provides a longer system life span.
OPERATION
During cool weather the “free-cooler” or watersize economizer is capable of handling the entire cooling load. During warm weather, when the “free-coolers” cannot cool as efficiently they cannot keep up with the cooling requirements so the system automatically switches the chiller system on to provide supplemental cooling.
