All new Diehl rip saws can be equipped with a larger throat clearance, the distance between the saw blade and the pressure beam arms. The standard clearance on all new saws is 19″. On models SL-30 and SL-35, the throat clearance can be increased to 30″. On the model SL-65, the throat clearance can be increased to 24″ or 48″. The additional throat clearance is typically used when ripping plywood, MDF, OSB, or re-ripping pre-glued panels to specific width dimension.
