Warning Panels
Avtech utilizes advanced legend and filter production capabilities to deliver the most effective crew warning panels in the industry. Installations range from small GA aircraft to large commercial aircraft. With our dead front panel design, the pilot’s attention will only be alerted when the high resolution, brilliantly colored warnings are displayed.
Electronic Clocks
Transicoil electronic air transport / military aviation clocks are noted for their high MTBF; and easy-to -maintain, modular construction. Customization is possible, and the chronometers come in a variety of display formats, lighting and interface options. They are used in both fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft. Some of these clocks offer communications systems that utilize either ARINC-429 or RS-232 interfacing to meet today’s FAA requirements.
Transicoil also manufactures low cost electronic clocks for General Aviation under the trade name Astrotech Clocks. Astrotech clocks have been the mainstay in the commercial Aviation Industry and have enjoyed an excellent reputation among private aircraft owners for the past 30 years. Astrotech clocks are precision aircraft clocks offering reliability at an economical cost. Our chronometers provide time, date and elapsed timer with a hold or time-out feature.
LCDs
Transicoil develops and manufactures custom liquid crystal displays (LCDs) in dichroic, FMTN (first minima twisted nematic), Heilmeier and multiplexed STN (super twisted nematic) technologies. Transicoil recommends the best display technology for its customers based on unique customer requirements and the intended use of the product. Displays are assembled into “sandwich-like” configurations. Active areas or patterns are formed via indium tin oxide (ITO). Polarizers, anti-reflection coating, transflectors, heaters and color paint masks are added in compliance to customer requirements. Fixed-format LCDs offer a reliable alternative to multifunction displays in certain applications that require low cost and limited information content. Transicoil has over 25 of years experience in the design and development of rugged display technology.
Dichroic LCDs
Dichroic LCDs have a long and reliable history in aircraft environments. The longevity of the Dichroic display technology derives from the excellent visibility in direct, shafting sunlight and almost constant contrast across a wide viewing area. Dichroic LCDs work on a light absorbed by dyes added to liquid crystal and do not require polarizers. These LCDs can be backlit for all day and night lighting conditions and have high reflective contrast.
FMTN LCDs
FMTN LCDs are characterized by their superior transmissive contrast and low operating voltage. The FMTN display offers high performance in an aerospace environment with a reasonable cost. Heilmeier LCDs
Heilmeier LCDs are noted for maintaining excellent transmissive contrast and for their wide viewing angles. Modules
A display module is the interface between a human operator and an electronics package. Display modules combine a display (FMTN, Heilmeier, STN, dichroic or other) with drive electronics, backlight source, housing or bezel and connector. Standard custom color and night vision imaging system (NVIS) and LED backlighting are available. Compliant backlighting is available in LED, incandescent, and fluorescent designs. Commercial Modules
High reliability, excellent sunlight readability and lighting requirement compliance make Transicoil modules an ideal choice for equipment in commercial, regional and business aircraft. Military Modules
Rugged Transicoil LCD modules are used in both rotor and fixed-wing applications. The solid-state construction makes the products virtually impervious to vibration and shock. Environmental seals protect the modules in the most stringent operating environments. Night vision (NVG) backlighting compliant to MIL-L-85762 is available. STN Modules
Multiplexed STN modules combine high information content, aerospace-quality displays at a reasonable price, and are available in both positive and negative images. Complete customization of size, format and backlighting is possible.
