SMALL FOOTPRINT CELL WITH DISPENSING SYSTEM

Application Criteria: Design and build a small footprint dispensing system that accepts manual feeding of covers, dispenses a bead of sealant, provides vision to verify bead position, width, and height.

• Main frame
• Shuttle mechanism and tooling plates
• Dispensing system: supply meter, hoses, gun, nozzle, pumps
• Robot system: FANUC LR Mate
• Vision system
• Safety guarding
• Control system

FANUC LR Mate is a compact six-axis mini robot for precise bead placement and high performance dispensing technology. This mini robot has the approximate size and reach of a human arm, minimizing any interference to outlying devices while allowing operation in narrow or confined spaces.
