About Sackett-Waconia

Sackett was founded in 1897 by Augustus J. “Gus” Sackett, as The A. J. Sackett & Sons Company. He began with the production of crushers for the fledgling Fertilizer Industry and, as the years progressed, Sackett moved into granulation by building process plants for NPK, AMS, SSP, MAP, TSP, Organics, and By-Products. Later, our focus shifted to blending technology as granular products, like Urea, DAP, MOP, etc., became available and agronomic science advanced.

Founded in 1959, Waconia MFG was the largest Midwestern supplier of fertilizer blending and materials handling equipment and, in 1994, Sackett purchased an interest in it. Waconia’s reputation for high quality, highly reliable, equipment was unsurpassed and the two companies were a natural fit based on their goals of long-lasting equipment with dedicated service and support. In 2007, Sackett do Brasil was formed to supply the Brazilian market with fertilizer process and blending equipment and engineering. In late 2016 we combined the companies to launch Sackett-Waconia.

For over 120 years the majority of our business has been in the fertilizer industry. Over our history, we have been granted more than 200 patents for process equipment and innovative technologies, many of which our industry still uses today. Today, we fully support TFI’s 4R Nutrient Stewardship program, and design systems and equipment to meet the needs of modern agriculture, with a focus on Precision Fertilizer Blending®.

Sackett-Waconia provides equipment for many of the leading global fertilizer companies and we are dedicated to working with each client to provide systems and solutions that both meet their needs today and are flexible enough to serve them well into the future.
