Nidec ASI was established in December 2012 as a result of Nidec Corporation’s acquisition of Ansaldo Sistemi Industriali S.p.A. Since 2015 Nidec ASI has been responsible for the Group's industrial platform, and operates in the market as Nidec Industrial Solutions. Nidec Industrial Solutions (NIS) is a business platform of Nidec Group, which combines the products and services of Nidec ASI (formerly Ansaldo Sistemi Industriali), Avtron Industrial Automation, Nidec Industrial Automation, Motortecnica and SSB  to supply comprehensive electric systems globally. The company is renowned for its engineered-to-order electric motor and drive systems, industrial automation, power quality solutions and renewable energy. It offers customised solutions throughout the world for a wide range of industrial applications. Its reference markets are the petrochemical, traditional and renewable energy, steel, naval and industrial automation markets. 

The multinational is specialised in heavy duty applications in which high power and high performance are key: electric motors and generators up to 65 MW of power (87,000 HP); power electronics inverters and converters; automation and software for industrial processes; retrofitting of power plants and hydroelectric generators; integrated systems for the production of electrical energy from renewable sources and their stabilisation in connecting to the national grid. 

Nidec Industrial Solutions has been a pioneer in Battery Energy Storage solutions for Commercial and Utility scale plants. As a turn-key EPC contractor or as the electrical partner for the complete Balance of System (BoS), from electrical design to installation, we have installed more than 1 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Solutions across the globe.
