Pioneering filling and packaging solutions
As an international manufacturer of filling and packaging systems for the beverage, food and non-food industries, the KHS Group is one of the market leaders in the sector. The company was created in 1993 from the merger of Holstein & Kappert AG, founded in Dortmund in 1868, and Seitz-Werke GmbH (later SEN AG), established in Bad Kreuznach in 1887. With company roots going back more than 150 years, the KHS Group is one of the most experienced suppliers on the market. In 2021, the company achieved sales of 1.245 billion euros with 4,954 employees. The KHS Group is a 100 percent subsidiary of Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke GmbH, which is part of the Salzgitter Group.
At five German locations, KHS develops and manufactures the entire portfolio of filling and packaging machines for processing plastic (PET) or glass containers, beverage cans or kegs. Especially high-performance systems, but also solutions for smaller output are in the offer with its extensive range of supplementary consulting and service products.
Dortmund is the headquarters and center for cleaning, pasteurization, labeling and transport technology. Parts production is also an integral part of production at the central KHS site. The competencies for process and filling technology as well as keg systems are combined in Bad Kreuznach. The competence center for all secondary packaging solutions is in Kleve, and high-performance palletizers as well as packing and unpacking solutions are manufactured in Worms. At the Hamburg site, KHS offers a comprehensive range of advice on plastic containers for beverages, food and non-food products and also manufactures machines for manufacturing and coating plastic containers.
KHS also has production sites in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, India and China. KHS attaches great importance to global on-site service. KHS is available to its customers at more than 70 locations and can provide direct support at short notice if required. A 24/7 helpdesk and a selection of digital services complement the claim of proximity to its customers.
In accordance with the motto "Your Reliable Partner", KHS supports its customers throughout the entire production life cycle of their systems with new, value-adding solutions and upgrades. The company underlines this with the successful development of resource-saving machines and modernization solutions for efficient energy management. In the field of sustainable packaging, KHS supports its customers with recycling-promoting solutions (such as plastic containers made from up to 100% [r]PET or the only recyclable PET barrier solution). The aim is to make a future-oriented contribution to supplying people with safely packaged drinks and thus access to clean drinking water with every filling and packaging solution.
