AboutHeinrichs Messtechnik GmbH

The company's history began in 1911 with the construction of mechanical variable area flowmeters with glass measuring tube. In 1913 the company moved from Düsseldorf to Cologne.

The main suppliers were companies in the chemical and petrochemical industries around the Cologne location, which has remained one of the largest chemical and refinery locations in Europe to this day.

Already at the beginning of the 1960s, the construction of all-metal variable area flowmeters began in order to keep up with the increased technical requirements in chemistry. During this time, the development of variable area measuring devices with eg pneumatic and electrical output signals was promoted.

With the advent of electronics in metrology, the product range has been expanded consistently. For example, Heinrichs Messtechnik was one of the first manufacturers in Europe to begin production of magnetic inductive flowmeters in the late 1960s, setting standards in terms of measurement accuracy and long-term stability.

In the mid-1980s, Heinrichs was the first European company to develop a mass flow meter based on the Coriolis principle and systematically expanded the range of Coriolis units in the following years. Among other things, Hastelloy, Titan and Tantalum devices were developed, which became the reference in chemistry and petrochemistry. This is underlined by approvals under calibration regulations in various countries, which guarantee the accuracy according to recognized standards when delivered to our customers.

The introduction of microprocessor technology in the late 1990s led to modern communication technologies such as HART®, Profibus and MODBUS. With the Foundation Fieldbus protocol, Heinrichs now offers all common communication technologies in process instrumentation. Once again, in 2010, Heinrichs Messtechnik was the first manufacturer in the world to offer an all-metal variable area flowmeter with compact Foundation Fieldbus Transmitter, once again underscoring its innovative strength.

Heinrichs Messtechnik offers customers in the chemical / petrochemical, oil and gas, energy and plant engineering sectors expertise, flexibility and tailor-made solutions such as special materials, high-temperature versions and high-pressure versions. Modern safety standards such as SIL are now firmly planned for the development of new converters and devices.

Heinrichs Messtechnik has been successfully integrated into the KOBOLD Group since 2008. The KOBOLD Group operates worldwide through more than 30 own branches, sales and service offices, thus guaranteeing an almost complete sales network with contact persons on site.
