Greg Sedgwick B.Comm, M.Comm, FAICDChairman

  • Greg was appointed as the Chairman of the Board in October 2018
  • Greg has over 35 years experience in the building materials, industrial and healthcare industries across Australia, Asia and Europe
  • Greg was the CEO of ASX listed Crane Group for 7 years from 2004, leaving Crane Group in 2011 after successfully agreeing a takeover by another major building products company
  • Prior to that, Greg spent 21 years with BOC Group. His most recent roles included serving as Group Director of Business Development based in London and as Managing Director of BOC South Pacific based in Sydney
  • Since 2011, Greg has held a number of senior roles in private equity
  • Greg currently serves as the Chairman of NextGen Clubs and as Director of the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children
  • Greg is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) as well as a Master of Commerce (Business Planning) from the University of New South Wales

Terry Lawler B.Comm, FCA, FAICD, FAUSIM, FAUSICD, FAIM, AONon-Executive Director

  • Terry has been a non-executive Director of Ampcontrol since May 2004 and served as Chairman from August 2014 to October 2018
  • Terry is also the Chairman of Hunter Water Corporation and Life Without Barriers
  • Terry is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management
  • Terry has served on national, state and local Boards along with a number of business and community organisations providing business, internal audit, operational and strategic advice and was awarded an AO in 2017
  • Terry’s former Chairmanships include National Rail Corp, NIB Foundation, Newcastle Knights, PKF Corporate Finance and Lawler Partners Chartered Accountants & Lawler National Alliance

David Scammell B.Sc.Agr, MBANon-Executive Director

  • David was appointed to the Board of Ampcontrol in August 2016
  • David is the Managing Director of Pitt Capital Partners, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Australia’s oldest listed investment house, Washington H. Soul Pattinson & Company
  • David is a Director of a number of unlisted companies where Washington H. Soul Pattinson & Company or Pitt Capital Partners has an equity interest
  • David commenced with Pitt Capital Partners in 2004 and has extensive corporate advisory experience across a number of sectors including mining and telecommunications
  • Prior to joining Pitt Capital Partners, David worked for two venture capital funded entities
  • David holds a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Sydney

Matthew Turner B.Bus, MBANon-Executive Director

  • Matthew was appointed to the Board in August 2016
  • Matthew is currently the Managing Director and Co-Owner of Plant Assessor, a world leader in cloud-based software and service solutions used by businesses that use and/or supply plant & equipment
  • Prior to this role, Matthew held a number of senior management roles with OneSteel (now Liberty OneSteel) and Industrial Galvanizers Corporation. It was during his time in the steel industry that Matthew gained valuable insight into behavioural safety change management and how safety could be used as a business improvement tool
  • Between 2000 and 2008, Matthew also held a number of board and committee positions focused on the growth and development of the Australian Manufacturing Industry, including HunterNet Co-Operative and Australian Industry Group
  • For the previous 10 years, Matthew worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and its predecessor Coopers & Lybrand as an insolvency practitioner and business consultant, during which time he was admitted as a Chartered Accountant and successfully completed the Insolvency Practitioners Association Examinations
  • Matthew is currently a member of the Safety Institute of Australia

Rod Henderson MBA, FAIM, MAICDManaging Director and Chief Executive Officer

  • Rod was appointed as Ampcontrol’s Chief Executive Officer in June 2014 and Managing Director in December 2015
  • Rod began his 20 year career with the business in 1991 by managing the development and release of new electronics products
  • Rod went on to hold the role of Group Manager for Electronics and Chief Operating Officer of Australian Operations
  • Rod has full responsibility for all Ampcontrol Group operations including strategic direction, overall profitability, group structure, risk management and growth of the business
  • Rod is also leading Ampcontrol to diversify its business capabilities to secure future success
  • Prior to Ampcontrol, Rod spent seven years with Alcan Aluminium (Hydro) at Kurri Kurri, first undertaking an Electrical Apprenticeship and then being selected to undertake an Engineering Traineeship
  • Rod has a Master of Business Administration, Electrical Engineering Certificate, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD)

Nik Wyman B.Comm, CPAFinance Director and Chief Financial Officer 

  • Nik was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in 2020
  • Joining Ampcontrol as Chief Financial Officer in 2012, Nik brings more than 27 years of financial and corporate leadership in the manufacturing sector
  • Responsible for financial management and corporate governance, Nik oversees the global functions of Commercial, Legal, Information and Technology for Ampcontrol Group
  • Nik has extensive experience in private company financial environments and has worked across production and operations management as well as senior finance roles in the areas of financial analysis, revenue management, strategic and long-range business planning and mergers and acquisitions
  • Nik joined Ampcontrol following a career in manufacturing, logistics and retail businesses across companies including Smorgon Steel, Aristocrat Leisure Industries, Super A-Mart and Paradise Foods
