2G Energy AG is an internationally leading manufacturer of combined heat and power system (CHP) for the decentralised provision of power and heat on the basis of gas motors driven by natural gas, biomethane, biogas, sewage gas, landfill gas or hydrogen. The portfolio includes CHP sytsems with an electrical output of 20 to 4,500 kW. The customer base ranges from farming to municipalities, the housing industry, commercial enterprises, medium-sized industry and large industry to the energy sector
In addition to its headquarters in Heek, in the Münsterland region of Germany, with development and production, 2G also has another production site in the USA. 2G is also represented in several European countries through its own subsidiaries. Since it was founded in 1995, 2G has commissioned more than 6,500 plants worldwide.
Own research and development.
In the output range of 50 to 550 kW especially, 2G has its own gas-motor concepts with particularly low gas consumption and very high efficiency levels. The total efficiency levels are between 85 and far more than 90 percent.Through continuous research and development work in the group's own R&D company 2G Drives, 2G Energy AG is continually expanding its technological leadership.
Energy-saving solutions for industry.
In sectors such as the food industry, the chemicals industry or the pharmaceutical industry, the potential for energy saving through the use of combined heat and power generation is particularly high. Increasingly complex overall solutions for the efficient provision of electricity, process heat, cooling and steam are in demand in this area. Overall efficiency levels of 87 percent and more are not rare in these sectors. Experienced 2G engineers skilled in large motor technology will upon request undertake full project management and provide professional support in the design of peripheral components and the integration in the existing infrastructure. Companies such as Merck, Nordgetreide, albi, Kraft Foods and the organic dairy plant Söbbeke put their trust in the competence and reliability of 2G.
Partner to the energy sector.
Professional project management is also in demand as concerns major projects in the energy sector. 2G undertook a turn-key installation of a biomethane gas-operated CHP plant with an electrical output of 4.4 MW and a thermal output of 4.1 MW for STEAG New Energies in Essen, and integrated it in the existing district heating system. The highly efficient 2G plant which runs on the renewable fuel biomethane replaces part of a coal-fired heating system.
2G Service in the Industrie 4.0 era.
It is not only the operational efficiency level that determines the economy of a CHP, but to a great extent servicing too. This is not primarily about maintenance jobs such as oil changes and spark plug maintenance. Modern communications technology and innovative analysis software now allow critical operating parameters to be monitored at an early stage and provide the plant operator with recommended action in order to be able to preventively avoid damage and failures. If an on-site service intervention is required, highly trained service technicians will provide quick and reliable assistance. 140 service vehicles alone are available in an extensive service network.
