Introduction:
Valmet will supply its Valmet DNAe Distributed Control System (DCS) along with safety systems for a new waste-to-energy steam unit at the Green Energy Park project in Gliwice, Poland, developed by PEC Gliwice Sp. z o.o.
Facility:
The automation system is designed to support safe and efficient operation of the multifuel energy facility. It will help optimise energy recovery, enable clear monitoring and data-based decision-making, and reduce operating costs and environmental impact.
The Green Energy Park project forms part of the city’s long-term plan to modernise heating and waste processing infrastructure. It represents a major circular economy initiative and requires reliable technologies to ensure stable and efficient performance. The integrated automation and safety system will connect all process areas and support long-term operational reliability.
The facility is being built by an EPC consortium combining construction expertise with advanced process engineering capabilities.
The automation concept focuses on strong system integration, a safety architecture compliant with SIL3 standards, and user-friendly operation supported by advanced analytics. Valmet’s experience in waste-to-energy and district heating applications, along with its expertise in the energy sector, supports the project requirements.
