Introduction:

Valmet has been chosen to deliver advanced automation solutions for a 20-megawatt hydrogen fuel cell power project in Naepo New Town, South Korea. The initiative supports Naepo City’s plan to develop into a major clean energy hub.

Features:

Lotte Engineering & Construction serves as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the project, while Naepo Green Energy Company is the end user. The project aims to complement Naepo City’s existing 500-megawatt LNG combined heat and power (CHP) plant with hydrogen-based power generation, helping the city move towards its clean energy objectives.

Valmet’s automation technology will play a key role in optimising the operation of the new facility and ensuring efficient, reliable energy production. The project continues the successful collaboration between Valmet and Lotte Engineering & Construction, following their previous partnership on a biomass power plant.

Through this new project, Valmet continues to support the global transition towards sustainable energy and strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The order value remains confidential, and delivery of the automation systems is planned for January 2026.
