Introduction:
Air Products, a global leader in gas separation and purification membranes, celebrated a major milestone today with the groundbreaking of a $70 million expansion at its Missouri Manufacturing and Logistics Center in Maryland Heights, near St. Louis, Missouri.

This expansion, the largest ever for Air Products Membrane Solutions, is fueled by increasing demand for products used in biogas and hydrogen recovery, as well as the growing need for nitrogen in the aerospace industry and cleaner marine fuels.

PRISM® Membrane Separators: These separators utilize thousands of polymeric hollow fibers to filter gases into individual elements such as methane, nitrogen, or hydrogen. Offered as original equipment manufacturer components, they are used in specialized systems across aerospace, offshore drilling, food and beverage, transportation, and defense sectors.
Marine Systems: Air Products stands as the world’s largest and most experienced supplier of marine-based membrane systems, catering to dual-fuel systems, chemical tankers, oil platforms, and LNG carriers. Over 2,000 ships globally rely on separation systems built on Air Products' membrane technology.
Engineered-to-Order Systems: These large-scale membrane systems are customized for nitrogen generation and process gas applications, serving industries such as oil and gas, ammonia production, chemical manufacturing, and renewable diesel.
Global Service and Support: Air Products offers comprehensive maintenance and optimization services for membrane systems, including health checks, replacement parts, remote monitoring, and more to ensure optimal performance.
The new facility is projected to commence production by the end of 2025 and will create 30 new full-time positions. The current St. Louis facility employs around 170 people. This expansion follows a $10 million investment in 2023 aimed at increasing production capacity at the existing site.
