Introduction:

Air Liquide is set to establish a new industrial gas production facility in the United States to supply one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers with essential gases.

Features:

Under a long-term agreement, this new facility will produce and supply large volumes of high-purity industrial gases essential for memory chip production. Air Liquide will construct, own, and operate the facility in Idaho, delivering ultra-pure nitrogen and other critical gases not only to Micron Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) but also to other local customers.

The investment is expected to create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in Idaho throughout both the construction and operational phases, with the facility anticipated to be operational by the end of 2025.

This state-of-the-art, next-generation Carrier Gas Facility is designed to produce a comprehensive range of critical gases required on-site with increased energy efficiency and reduced logistical demands. The new plant boasts a 5% improvement in power efficiency over previous generation facilities. By producing most of the gases on-site, the need for truck transportation will be significantly reduced. Furthermore, the facility aims to source 100% of its electricity from renewable energy within the next five years.
