A motorized gimbal stage or gimbal mount is a device that precisely controls angular position of a mounted object around one or more axes in free space. We define a "gimbal mount" as a device designed for mounting an optical component like a mirror or camera, while we define a "gimbal stage" as a device for more universal applications.
