In-Die Staking and Assembly
Thomas Engineering Company provides comprehensive metal stampings and prototypes.
In certain instances or applications, metal parts also require various components such as contacts, pins, and machine components to be "staked" to the stamped part.
Assembling a component to a stamped part is often conducted off-line from the original stamping process, either by a specialized piece of machinery or by hand. However, in many cases it is possible to perform this staking process within the die itself, by automated feeding of the component as the part is being stamped.
When applied, in-die staking and assembly is a precision metal stamping process that can reduce the time and costs associated with complex metal stampings. It also simultaneously increases the precision of the finished product.
In-die staking and assembly requires specially manufactured dies that allow for the inclusion of components while the part is being stamped. Creating such dies requires the knowledge and experience offered by Thomas Engineering Company.
