At present, all energy production methods have direct effects on the environment. Biodiesel is biodegradable, has a high energy density and less harmful pollutant emissions and, in addition, production processes are simpler and cheaper than the processes required to obtain fossil fuels. For this reason, the production of biofuels has been constantly increasing since a few years ago, participating in the reduction of environmental pollution.
In this new case study, we explain how one of our customers, a biodiesel manufacturer in the Czech Republic, uses our DP series flowmeters for their production.
What is the application of these flowmeters for biodiesel production?
Customer needs to measure the flow of different fluids such as glycerin, methanol, vegetable oil, unsaturated acids and other additives for the manufacture of last generation biofuel, as well as to protect the pumps placed in the same installation.
The challenge faced daily by our DP series target disk flowmeters
It is required to measure the flow in different parts of the production process of biodiesel additives, both in safe and hazardous area, with different flow ranges, different flow directions and fluid types with various viscosity and density values.
The DP series target disk flowmeters are a very suitable solution in those applications that have changing working conditions, such as pressure or temperature, and when a complete knowledge of all the parameters of the application is not available. They are particularly suitable for measuring fluids with a certain amount of suspended particles and besides poorly sensitive to changes in density and viscosity of said fluids in large DNs.
