Biological indicators are test systems based on viable microorganisms and their defined resistance to specific decontamination processes. This microbiological process shows the results of decontamination and sterilization immediately and directly without reference parameters. Biological indicators are currently used for the validation and routine control of all common decontamination processes.

SKAN BI ® were specifically developed for use in demanding industrial H 2 O 2 decontamination processes. Each stainless steel support is inoculated with certified Geobacillusstearothermophilus bacterial spores. Each carrier is individually wrapped in a non-woven fabric of high-density polyethylene fiber material. SKAN's unique development and manufacturing processes ensure reliable and unsurpassed quality of the biological indicators.

The right biological indicator for every process

In order to be able to provide the right biological indicators for each process, SKAN has developed three standard versions that can be used depending on the process. The biological indicators differ in the number of certified Geobacillusstearothermophilus spores.

• SKAN BI ® – DSM5934 – 10e6(at least 1,000,000 bacterial spores)
• SKAN BI ® – DSM5934 – 10e5(at least 100,000 bacterial spores)
• SKAN BI ® – DSM5934 – 10e4(at least 10,000 bacterial spores)
