Nidec® elastic deformation FlexWave gearboxes

The Nidec ® FlexWave reducer is a very compact, zero backlash reduction system with elastic deformation, with exceptional positioning and repeatability accuracy. The FlexWave consists of three main elements: an elliptical generator (wave generator), an elastically deformable cup gear (flex spline) and the ring gear (circular spline). The elasticity properties of the cup gear (flex spline) which has a smaller diameter and a smaller number of teeth than the ring gear (circular spline) allows a deformation by the elliptical generator (FlexWave), causing the teeth of the Flex spline and Circular spline engage on the main diagonal of the ellipse, offering the following advantages:
