AEROSPACE HYDRAULIC DAMPERS

Aircraft environments can be very harsh when it comes to vibration. On most aircrafts, hydraulic dampers can be found in all areas of the vehicle. A hydraulic damper functions by allowing a piston to move freely at slow speeds through a viscous fluid but slows the piston speed when it moves at high rates. When a damper is attached to a component that has a tendency to wobble or shimmy, a damper reduces or eliminates the oscillation by virtue of its functionality. Sargent’s experience designing and manufacturing hydraulic actuation components translates very well into the design and manufacturing of aerospace, rotorcraft, and spacecraft hydraulic dampers.
