The ultra-high precision lathe Takahashi model Microstar L5T-W-NCL is designed for the production of high precision components in the automotive valves and injectors sector and is built entirely in Japan.The machine is equipped with two electrospindles with a liquid cooling system to avoid errors due to thermal expansion and two hydraulic turrets with 8 positions.The temperature of the electrospindles is constantly controlled and maintained within a range of 5 degrees to minimize dimensional variations during turning operationsControlled C-axis is optional, for motorized units it is possible to install pneumatic or electric electrospindles on the boring bar holders to interface with the CNC.

To ensure high productivity, a single or double CNC workpiece loading and unloading manipulator with three controlled axes is available. As an option it is possible to have a workpiece exchange accessory to be able to machine the part in two stages.The bases of the spindle lines and axis slides are independent so that no vibrations are transmitted.

The X- and Z-axis slides are mounted on a dovetail structure for maximum rigidity, superior accuracy and longer tool life. The slides and ball screws are automatically lubricated by the automatic lubrication unit supplied as standard.

The ball screws are of high quality and are preloaded to minimize temperature variations due to the movement of the balls inside the nut. X,Z axis accuracy is 0.001mm, repeatability is +/- 0.001mm and spindle nose runout is 0.002mm. To obtain greater precision when turning with two axes at the same time, this machine model has the Z axis with spindle movement (the head moves).

The basic machine is prearranged for pneumatic self-centering, while the prearrangement for hydraulic self-centering is optional according to the needs of workpiece grip.As option the X, Z axes can be provided with optical scales with 0.05 micron resolution.
