ReTWis

The ReTWis 5 (RETIA Through-Wall Imaging System) is a unique small portable radar detecting living entities behind a wall or a non-metallic barrier. Thanks to its technology, the radar can detect living entities both in motion and at rest.

The signal processing of the ReTWis 5 radar, optimized for the detection of small changes triggered human or animal movement, enables localization, for example, of a human being  based only on breathing.

Small dimensions, low weight and long operation period makes ReTWis 5 a highly portable device suitable for multi-purpose usage, for special police and military units.

Usage
The ReTWis 5 is usable for many purposes and can be applied in safety and military units. For example, for policemen and soldiers, it can provide a situation review about number and placement of persons in a room or a building before the operation, which gives them tactical prevalence and at the same time declines a risk of own losses and negative consequences for civilians.  The ReTWis 5 can be also used for long-term hidden monitoring of certain premises, which is amplified by a possibility of remote transmission of signal and data at the displaying unit. The radar is also an ideal assistant, for instance, for checking existence of hidden persons in trucks, since there is no need to physically open the truck semi-trailer for checking. Thanks to the Stand-off ability, it is also possible to create unscripted check-points with help of the ReTWis 5 Radar.

Technology
The ReTWis 5 Radar uses the UWB (UltraWideBand) radio localization technology. The UWB technology is specific by its high resolution, high noise immunity and practically no interference with other radio systems. Another benefit is easy penetration of its signal through the walls or other non-metallic barrier. Visual outputs of entities hidden behind the walls are displayed on the basis of processing the pulses reflected from them.  A signal from the radar is practically unidentifiable thanks to the SFCW (Step Frequency Continuous Wave) technology.
