Gages

Thread gages insure that tapped holes meet the requirements of the Class of Fit, for the part tapped. The pitch diameter and functional thread are checked to determine the threaded hole is within tolerance.  Two members are needed to effectively check a part, the GO member should thread easily into the threaded hole while the NOT GO or HI member should not thread into the part more than three turns.

Regal’s stock gages are available in either plug 2B or 3B or ring 2A or 2B class of fit. They are made to Class X tolerance per ANSI (American National Standards Institute)  B1.2 (Unified Inch Screw Threads) and B 1.16M ( Metric M Series Screw Threads).  All working plug gages are furnished chrome plated tool steel.  A Certificate of Conformance is supplied with every gage, and at additional cost a Certificate of Calibration can be supplied.

Our supply of standard thread plug and ring gages up to 1 ½” and 39 millimeter is expanded by our 5 day special gage service in support of our fast shipment program for special custom taps.
