Brass pipe nipples are short pieces of pipe with male pipe threads at both ends. Brass nipples are commonly used in plumbing applications because they are best suited to hot-water distribution lines. They’re used for connections for two female threaded fittings. The length of the nipple is specified by the overall length including the pipe threads. Close nipples have no unthreaded area and are protected when connected to two female fittings. Brass nipples have tremendous strength and high temperature ductility also.
